The fun-loving couple didn't shy away from laughs, nor tears, during their ceremony! All three groomsmen bent down and 'low-fived' with the groom three times. Then they both rose up together and saluted each other.

Then during the ceremony, the groom broke down and cried just before the vows...  :)

WEDDING: Officiant at Smogshoppe in Culver City, CA

Congratulations, Vivian and Jon!  Married on 23 Jan. 2010.

A former auto repair shop's structure, complete with its three garage doors, was the setting for this fantastic wedding in one the most unique spaces i have had the privilege to officiate at.  Touted as "L.A.'s greenest urban oasis", SMOGSHOPPE has a beautiful vertical garden, too.

The couple's wedding included a wine ceremony, as a symbol of their two lives combining or blending into one.  Each took an individual glass of red or white wine and poured all of it into  a third wine glass. Jon then poured the combined wine back into the 2 original glasses.  They both drank from their glass as they made a toast to themselves.

I had the great pleasure of working with Tony of REDSHOE LA again!  RedShoe, in my opinion as a music snob, is possibly the best d.j. company a couple could ask for at their ceremony, reception and more.  The entire event was in the very capable hands of Jeff from Smogshoppe, and handled through Kara of Marvimon, Smogshoppe's sister venue..  Photography by KYLE JOHNSON and his crew.

WEDDING: Outdoor Ceremony at Puddingstone Resorts in San Dimas, CA

It was an honour to marry these two, who have known each other since high school. Many of their friends were in attendance, for a reunion of sorts... There was lots of family in attendance, and many of them chipped in to help out with all the little details.

Up in the hills above Fairplex Drive near the Pomona Fairplex is a truly lovely outdoor venue at PUDDINGSTONE RESORTS, close to the communities of Upland, Covina, LaVerne and the 10, 57 and 210 freeways! Wedding manager Patricia is one of those perfect blends of professional and friendly...there was nothing bossy or control-freak about her. While the wedding ceremony was held on the Mesa site, the reception took place at the famous Ocean Star Seafood restaurant in Monterey Park. Music provided by Jeff of 'N'Style Entertainment, who is a dj that shows up at the rehearsal, which is really unusual and a great bonus. Photography by Pesh.

First, i would like to point out how i do not usually double-book dates, because i like to do my best to have all my energy and focus for one couple. However, when i meet a couple that give off a great vibe and feeling, i try to do whatever i can to fulfill their need for a special ceremony.

So, because of the significance of 8/8/08, i agreed to perform ceremonies for three wonderful couples!

CONGRATULATIONS: Par. and Mar.!
Their ceremony was held at the LAKE SHRINE at the Self-Realization Temple in Malibu, just a little ways from the beach off of Sunset Blvd. and PCH. There were lots of people walking around on this beautiful morning. There were swans, ducks and koi in the lake, watching on as we paid tribute all the world's religions. We made a prayer in front of Gandhi's memorial, peeked in at the Meditation Room, and had the bulk of the ceremony taking place in the Sunken Garden.

Held at the fabulous Yorba Linda home of a friend, this wedding was truly special. With just a couple dozen close friends, it was a fabulous party and celebration. i had known this couple for about a year, since their 7/7/07 ceremony did not work out at first, but 8/8/08 proved to be the charm for this lovely, Chinese themed ceremony. There was lots of red, dragons, and noisemakers to wish the couple a happy life together.

This special couple found me at the last minute, and asked me to perform their ring exchange ceremony. We met in the evening at DOUGLAS PARK in Santa Monica. It was a wonderful way to finish off an incredible day. i think they will be together for many, many years to come.

WEDDING: "A Caucasian's Traditional Chinese Wedding"

Throughout the ceremony, the bride was marveled at her new husband's inquiries about the different traditional Chinese customs that he kept observing. While removing the palanquin, Steven spotted a saddle and a fire pit in front of him. After a brief hesitation, he asked, "What are these for?" The master of ceremony explained that the saddle symbolized peace as it has the same pronunciation in Chinese as "peace," while the fire pit is to burn bad luck away and brings a bright future.

WEDDING: 8/8/08 or August 8, 2008

The Triple 8 combination—080808—will not be coming around for another century, and it is believed that it will bring even more luck than usual in some cultures.
